…. provided it’s not in our town’ (Homer Simpson). I’ve just published an article in the Quarterly Review about Fracking and I’m starting to wonder if Homer was right. There’s little opportunity in Britain for an informed debate on the subject. The media has swallowed the anti Fracker environmentalist argument and government isn’t much better. Actually given the unpopularity of the present government surely now is the time to start issuing licences. It can hardly do them much harm. My view is that the anti frackers are more bothered about property values. Certainly they don’t show much interest in the science.
